Tips

  • Locktite every single metal/metal screw connection on this helicopter.
  • Use 325mm Trex 450 blades.
  • Use Carbon Fibre (CF) tail blades, stock blades will snap at high headspeeds

CF blades

.. are available from dealextreme:

Setup

When setting up your head, adjust the links as needed so that:

  1. Servo arms are horizontal
  2. Swash plate is level
  3. Washout mixer arms are level
  4. Fly bar arms are level
  5. Main blades have zero degrees pitch

This should be done when the radio is switched on, both sticks are centered on your TX and with your pitch curve setup for zero degrees at mid stick.

The above will give you push rod lengths of:

PushrodLength
Blade grips to fly bar mixing arms 18mm
Fly bar mixing arms to swash plate 40mm
Fly bar arms to washout mixer arms 24mm
Swash plate to front-left and front-right servo arms 33mm
Swash plate to rear servo arm 29mm
